Everyone, everywhere, deserves their best possible vision.
Since 1982, Seva has helped more than 5 million people see again, and have provided eye care services to millions more.

Nine out of 10 people living with vision loss live in low- and middle-income countries where access to basic eye care can be scarce.
We focus on reaching those most in need – women, children and people living in poverty and isolation. Collaborating closely with our local partners, we champion community ophthalmology – eye care for the community, by the community.
We follow a sustainable cost-recovery model where fees paid by patients who can afford to pay, subsidize care for those who cannot.
Everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, receives the same high-quality eye care. This approach ensures eye care services are equitable, and will continue in the long term.
However, fear, poverty, and a lack of awareness about eye disease can prevent people from accessing care even when it’s available and free.
A Permanent Presence in Underserved Areas
By establishing a permanent, year-round presence through Community Eye Centres (CECs) in underserved areas, we can reach people who would otherwise remain needlessly blind or visually impaired. These standalone facilities provide a wide range of preventive eye care treatments, prescription glasses and medicine, and referrals to the hospital when surgery or further care is needed.
Through education and community engagement, we empower local advocates, including teachers and volunteers, to champion eye care awareness. This collaborative effort ensures that communities not only understand the importance of eye health but also know how to access and benefit from available services.
Together with our donors, partners and eye care advocates, we can build a bright future where eye care is available and accessible by all.
