Building capacity to study the impact of eye health programs on communities at the local level is the foundation of our commitment to supporting “what works”.
The key to that commitment is understanding what actually does improve eye care programs. That’s why we build capacity at the local level to study the impact of eye health programs on their communities.
Studies are led by our local partners, which helps them understand what works and what could be improved. Where possible, we encourage and support partners to publish their findings. This adds important and helpful information for the rest of the global eye health community.
Data is critical for reporting and transparency.
The real power of data, however, is in how it’s used. The data we collect are the building blocks for how our partners continually improve their eye care programs. This active use of data makes our donors’ support go even further, giving even more people access to high-quality care.
