It's week 50 in our "random acts of seva" campaign and the countdown to Seva Canada's 30th anniversary. This week we want to highlight the kindness and compassion of children and some of their school charity fundraising ideas. Children are able to grasp the impact of Seva's work and they are easily inspired by the idea that, for just a small amount of money, they can restore sight to a blind person. Here's a few examples of caring kids: Last week, the Kindergarten to Grade 3 classes at St. Joseph's Elementary School in Kelowna BC donated to Seva to provide a pair of prescription glasses to a child in Guatemala. The children at Roberts Creek Elementary School in BC did a charity fundraising project and donated $310 to Seva. Each of the students wrote letters to Seva, like this charming one here. Watch this space for more news about an amazing group of Grade 12 students at Georges Vanier Secondary School in Toronto who are organizing the Mission Vision Art Show and Sale this spring. We salute these and the hundreds of other school children across Canada who have restored sight to people far away. If you're interested in doing a charity project in your school and would like to know how you can help Seva Canada, please contact Heather at 604-713-6622 or 1-877-460-6622 toll free or email fundraising@seva.ca.
