Monitoring & Evaluation

Integrating monitoring and evaluation frameworks into each of Seva Canada’s programs is vital to our mission of restoring sight and preventing blindness in low- and middle-income countries.

“What are we doing now, and how can we improve?” are two questions that a strong monitoring and evaluation framework can help answer.

While monitoring and evaluation of services is important everywhere, it becomes vital when there are fewer providers and more people needing care, as is the case in the challenging settings where our international program partners work.

We co-create and integrate monitoring and evaluation frameworks with all our program partners. They collect data on the numbers, types and quality of services they provide, the supplies and medicine needed and used, the types of people they serve (girls, boys, women, men) and their financial health.

Evaluation frameworks help staff analyze this data over time to find trends and gaps in services, thereby providing the information they need to improve their eye care services.

They can then create plans and activities to close gaps, and provide more care to more people in the most efficient and effective way.
