Late on March 2nd, Seva's executive director Penny Lyons and Heather Wardle waved goodbye at YVR to a wonderful group of donors heading off to Nepal to see both the sights and sight programs. Getting the $80,000 ERG machine onto the flight from Vancouver to Kathmandu via Hong Kong was remarkably easy. Soon it will be doing its work at Lumbini Eye Institute. On their travels, Seva's donors will go to Lumbini, birthplace of the Buddha, and visit the Seva-supported hospital which has evolved from a small eye clinic to one of the leading and most successful eye care centres in Nepal and one of the finest examples of a self-sustainable health facility in South Asia. Here's a photo of the gang, minus John who is somewhere waiting for them all to check in, and Janice and her daughter: march-2009-seva-donors-at-yvr-leaving-for-nepal-trip-11
