Dr. Martin Spencer, ophthalmologist and much-loved Seva board member, has just returned from Tibet where he was volunteering and teaching eye surgery. "The changes since I was last in Tibet in '96 are astonishing. The increase and improvement in eye care facilities in Tibet and, most important, the skills of the eye care personnel, are dramatic," said Marty.  "It was also encouraging to see the high profile of Seva in all the areas I  visited.  Seva is not only well known, but highly respected." "The doctors who learned Manual Sutureless Cataract Surgery were so excited!  And it means faster surgery, and better, safer results," he added. Here's a slideshow that we've created of Marty in Tibet. Many thanks to Kunga and Tashi who took such great photos of Marty in action! Seva Canada is seeking funding for critical eye care equipment for the new Kham Eye Centre in Tibet. To donate or for more information, visit www.seva.ca or call 604-713-6622.
